Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question? We've compiled a list of our most commonly asked questions below.

Is this the official government application?

No, Smart Drive is an independent, offline utility app designed to help you securely store and quickly access your automobiles and official QR code on your device. To register for a new official quota, please visit fuelpass.gov.lk.

How is my data stored?

All your data, including your scanned QR code and vehicle details, is stored strictly on your local device. We use no cloud storage, no online databases, and no tracking scripts to collect your data.

Can I use the app without an internet connection?

Absolutely! The primary purpose of this app is to avoid connectivity errors at gas stations. Once you have saved your QR code to the app, you can retrieve it at lightning speed without any internet connection.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Because we respect your privacy and do not backup any data to our servers, your stored QR codes cannot be recovered by us. You will need to re-download your official pass from the official government portal.

How does the Biometric Security work?

The app integrates directly with your device's built-in Face ID or Fingerprint authentication systems. When you open the app, it prompts your device to verify you. The biometric processing is handled entirely by your operating system, ensuring maximum security and a seamless experience.

Can I manage multiple vehicles?

Yes! With the new Vehicle Hub (v2.0), you can add and manage an unlimited number of vehicles. Each vehicle can have its own fuel pass, service history, and document vault.

How secure are my vehicle documents?

Extremely secure. When you scan a Revenue License or Insurance card, the image is stored in the app's private directory. Access is gated by the same Biometric Security (Fingerprint/Face ID) as your fuel pass. No cloud syncing means only you have the keys.

How do service reminders work?

When you log a service record in the Maintenance Hub, you can set a "Next Service" date. The app will automatically schedule a local notification to alert you 24 hours before and on the morning of the scheduled service.

Why do you require camera permissions?

We require camera permissions for two core features: scanning your Fuel Pass QR code and scanning your vehicle documents for the Document Vault. As always, all image processing happens locally on your device.
